Respiratory diseases like pneumonia have increased in Leer County of Unity State due to the long wet season and poor living conditions.
The alert comes from MSF health promoter Angelina Nyayen.She told Internews that MSF hospital in Leer receives many children below the age of ten every day to be treated from pneumonia.
Ms Nyayen said pneumonia was caused by exposure to extra cold conditions.
She advised mothers to stop bathing children at night with cold water.
Ms Nyayen added that mothers must provide their children with thick clothes that can warm them during the cold weather.
