The Catholic Bishop of Wau appealed to the young girls and boys to embrace God’s mission and not to use the Church just to get education.

The message came after last September’s Bishops Conference, during which the Catholic Bishops from South Sudan and Sudan discussed the future of the Church and the National Seminary.

Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak told Voice of Hope that the meeting came out with many suggestions to build a strong Church in both countries.

He told theology section seminarians to report to the major seminary during the first week of November.

The Bishop asked the faithful to encourage girls and boys called to serve the Church and present them to the parish priests.

Bishop Deng said after 2005 most of the young men who joined the seminary left after graduating.

He added that some recognized that they did not have a vocation while others wanted to support their families.

Bishop Deng urged the communities in Wau and all over South Sudan to encourage the youth to serve the Lord in the Church.
