SOUTH SUDAN, SUDAN FOREIGN MINISTERS TO SENSITIZE CITIZENS

South Sudan and Sudan foreign ministers have agreed to sensitize citizens of both countries to accept the recent cooperation agreements signed in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, last week.

South Sudan Foreign Minister, Nhial Deng Nhial, told the press at Juba International Airport that sensitization was critical for the implementation of the agreements.

He said he met with his Sudanese counterpart at the UN in New York and both agreed to ask the international community to support the implementation of the agreements.

The two foreign ministers also agreed to to maintain the momentum gained by the agreements to address the remaining contentious issues.

Mr Deng disclosed that he met some foreign ministers from different countries at the sidelines of the UN general assembly in order to expand diplomatic relations.

He said South Sudan signed agreements with Macedonia, Greece, Fiji, Bulgaria and Bahrain to establish diplomatic relations.

The minister met his counterparts in the sidelines of the of the UN General Assembly meeting that started on September 27 in New York, USA.
