Authorities in Yei River County of Central Equatoria on Thursday issued a local order banning the consumption of a leafy stimulant called marungi.
Commissioner Juma David Augustine says the order was enacted to eradicate the drug’s transaction and chewing.He called on the concerned agencies to ensure that the local order is executed to protect the population.
Commissioner Juma warned that authorities will track down any person involved in the business and use of marungi.
This was the second local order issued by Yei River County Legislative Council banning the use of marungi in the region.
