There will be no additional pay cuts in South Sudan, but the cancelation of cuts on allowances if the oil deal with the Sudan goes ahead.

The positive message came from the chairperson of Fiscal, Financial Allocation and Monitoring Commission, Gabriel Mathiang Rok.

He said there would be no more cuts on allowances and salaries.

The commissioner promised a cancelation on current cuts in allowances if non-oil revenue increased.

Mr Mathiang said if Khartoum signs the oil deal civil servants and organized forces will get additional allowances.

The chairperson of the financial allocation commission made these statements during a press conference in Juba on Tuesday to explain that there were no cuts on salaries but on allowances.

Mr Mathinag said officials at state level failed to inform civil servants and authorized forces about the halving of house allowances before they got their July pay and in some places the confrontations turned violent.
