Criminal Investigation Department or CID apprehended a large quantity of hashish, commonly known as opium, at Jebel checkpoint on the Juba-Yei Road.
CID anti-narcotics and car theft head at the ministry of interior, Major Hakim Ajack, told reporters Tuesday afternoon that the drugs catch was successful due to sharing of intelligence between Juba and Yei officers, Bakhita Radio reported.Mr Ajack said three suspects were arrested and will be presented to the court.
The CID officer said the hashish was hidden in flour and groundnut bags.
Mr Ajack said the arrested people were from Uganda, South Sudan and Ethiopia.
The Ugandan national owned the drugs, the Ethiopian the car with CE number plates and the South Sudanese was the driver.
Last week, security personnel arrested two people at Nesitu Junction carrying hashish from Torit to Juba.
