An American hip hop legend said being in South Sudan was better than to be in Rock and Roll Hall Fame and that he was excited to perform in the We Want Peace Concert.

Darryl McDaniels known as DMC, the leader of legendary hip hop group RUN DMC, told CRN it was unbelievable to be the first American to perform in the new nation.

He explained that he was having fun rapping in the basement when he was kid, then he became the first to be on radio and make tours, and now he is in South Sudan.

Mr McDaniels said the visit to South Sudan was is “best accomplishment.”

DMC will perform on Friday in Emmanuel Jal’s concert We Want Peace Campaign in Juba.
