Western Bahr El Ghazal state government has sold old vehicles in a public auction attended by a large mass of business private people.

Twelve cars were put on sale by a technical committee selected by the state secretariat, Voice of Hope reported.

Joseph Michael Mosa, who chaired the committee, said the vehicles under the hammer were a problem for the treasury department.

He explained that the technical committee checked and investigated the conditions of all vehicles in public institutions to identify those to be sold.

Mr Michael said the procedure was transparent and open to the public.

He added that the prices were fair and affordable.

The auction took place last Monday and the buyers had to pay until Thursday since all applicants were given 72 hours to get their vehicles.
