The authorities of Yei River County in Central Equatoria State have started preparing for the International Democracy Day that will be celebrated in South Sudan under the theme “Dialogue and inclusiveness central in democracy.”
The International Democracy Day is observed on Saturday, September 15, Radio Easter reported.Organizing Committee Chairperson Data John said the International Democracy Day was introduced in 2007.
This is the fourth time that South Sudan observes the event.
Mr Data said during the celebration questions to be asked to measure the level of understanding by citizens on the capacity of the parliament to listen to people, level of consultation and barriers to inclusive dialogue.
He called on the people to gather for the celebration in big numbers to discover the benefits of democracy.
The UN celebrates the event under the theme “Democracy education.”
