UPPER NILE UNIVERSITY TO BAN TRIBAL ASSOCIATIONS

Upper Nile University is set to ban tribal associations and recognize only regional associations that do not represent single tribes.

Vice Chancellor Bol Deng said President Salva Kiir made it clear that he does not want ethnic differences in universities, Voice of Love reported.

He added that Upper Nile University shall support the President’s view by banning associations formed along tribal lines.

Professor Deng said his administration is committed to run the university’s academic activities without failure under any circumstance.

He told the students to take their education seriously in order to achieve goals for the betterment of the new nation.

Professor Deng made these during a graduation ceremony in Upper Nile University.
