Floods from heavy rains are affecting 14,980 people and 2,996 households in Nyal Payam of Unity State.
Local agencies met on Tuesday to asses the situation.They wrote that heavy rains on Monday night affected people of 15 villages.
The registered an increase in cases of malaria, diarrhoea and pneumonia in Nyal payam.
The assessment report called for immediate action to avert the dangers posed to human health and life by waterborne diseases.
The document warned that effects of the heavy rains are expected to continue for a number of months.
