A warlord from Jonglei State that defected to Khartoum has sent a team to recruit youths in Pibor County.

Pibor County Commissioner Joshua Kenyi told CRN over the phone that militia leader David Yau Yau sent a team led by James Harzen to recruit fighters in the county.

He said the army was informed about the move.

Mr Konyi said Yau Yau’s group is too small to threaten the peace in Jonglei State or in Pibor County.

The County Commissioner said the peace process is consolidating in Jonglei State and three communities are exchanging abducted children.

Mr Yau Yau made peace with the Government of South Sudan in 2011 but in April of 2012 defected again to Khartoum.
