A senior photo-journalist this morning offered some training to colleagues on the importance of photos in a printed story or in wbsites.

Marc Ellison, a photo-journalist freelancer who works for UNMIS, said photos make good company to stories and attract readers’ attention, Bakhita Radio reported.

Mr Ellison said the training was important because it helped journalists acquire necessary skills to carry their duties.

He added that photos are important in a story because they communicate information better than words.

Mr Ellison encouraged radio and TV stations to load photos in their websites to pass information easier.

The participants learned about photo taking, editing and placement.
