The commissioner for Yei River County said this morning that the population of internally displaced persons is increasing by the month in Yei River County putting local resources under stress.
David Juma Augustine said the increase of IDPs has brought many problems to the county, including water shortage and crowed schools and families, Radio Easter reported.He added that the number of pupils per class is more than 140 and households have in average more than people people.
Mr Juma explained that Yei Civil Hospital does not have enough medicines to meet the health issues for all those people.
The commissioner made these remarks today at the Youth Garden during his first meeting with the chiefs, sub chiefs, executive directors and headmen in all the five payams of Yei River County.
