A mobile veterinary worker is selling medicines at Kumbur Payam of Nuba Mountains in order to combat animal diseases.
Hassan Ramma Abaker said the death of thousands of livestock in 2011 was caused by insecurity and lack of roads to bring in medicines.He stated that the drugs are being provided to all the counties in the Nuba Mountains by Nuba Relief and Rehabilitation Development Organization.
Mr Ramma called upon the cattle keepers in the payam to buy drugs to protect animals from the various infections in order to avoid last year’s incidents.
He added that the drugs he is selling are at fair prices and that those who are willing to buy should go and get some because this will keep their animals healthy.
Last year, many animals died due to lack of veterinary services in the region.
