Guinea worm infections are increasing in Tonj South County ofn Warrap due to presence of stagnant rain water in the area.
Tonj Government Hospital doctor Marko Saeed said the hospital receives about 14 patients of Guinea worm every week, Radio Don Bosco reported.
Dr Saeed added that lack of boreholes in villages is the major contribution to the infections as people are forced to use dirty water for washing, drinking and bathing.
He urged the Government of South Sudan to supply water filters and filtering clothes to hospitals for people to use in their homes.
Dr Saeed asked people to make proper use of the few filters given to them to eradicate Guinea worm.
