Repair works of Kudo Bridge, commonly known as Kor-Inglisi, on the Torit-Juba road started today.
Eastern Equatoria Minister for Transport and Roads, Charles Ambrose Lokonoi, told Radio Emmanuel that the works started today and will be completed by 5:00 PM on Sunday. The minister said the repair of the bridge is import to that nation because the road connects Juba with Kenya through Eastern Equatoria.
Mr Lokonoi said the repair works are being done by the state and cost less than 100 thousand Pounds.
He added that private contractors wanted to charge over 200 thousand Pounds for the job.
The breakdown of Kor-Inglisi Bridge represented a major problem to road users travelling between Torit and Juba.
