South Sudan Catholic Intellectual Movement this morning paid a visit to Juba orphanage to celebrate the first anniversary of South Sudan’s independence with the orphans.
Fr Oliver Nyara led a prayer at the orphanage, Bakhita Radio reported.He told the attendance that the Church is a source of unity among the people of God because it does not differentiate people.
Fr Nyara thanked the South Sudan Intellectual Movement for their initiative to help the orphans.
He wished such visits should not come only once a year.
Fr Nyara asked the public to pray and sympathize with the situation of the orphans.
He said some children at the orphanage are not well fed while others need psychological support.
The leader of the Catholic Intellectual Movement, James Tiberius, handed some food and non food items to supervisor Abdu Waju.
Local artists entertained the orphans after the prayer.
Women from the Legion of Mary from various parishes of the Archdiocese of Juba joined the Intellectual Movement for the visit to the orphanage.
