WFP has started on Wednesday a two-day training workshop for students of Western Bahr El Ghazal state on school feeding.
The training aimed at overcoming the problem of food security and reduce the rate of school dropout in the rural areas of the state.WFP Wau branch officer Peter Bala Paul, said world food program mandate is to fight hunger.
He added that reducing hunger among pupils in the rural areas, and towns, will allow students to continue their education and promote their development.
Mr. Bala said the workshop aims at evaluating how the food for education program is being implemented.
Director-General in the State ministry of education, Adhullia Abdhullai Ali, stressed the important role World Food Program plays in supporting education.
He added that the ministry is looking forward to keep improving the education system,.
He called upon the partner organizations to keep cooperating in order to meet the community needs.
Senior officers from the state ministry of education and supervisors for the school feeding program in the rural areas attended the workshop.
The two days workshop is the result of a partnership between World food program and the Ministry of Education
