The head of Woman Association in the Nuba Mountains has called for the promotion of equality between the women and men.
Leila Karim Tima said that women should work for the common good of the nation and not to put themselves in equal footing with men.She said both women and men are equal adding that opportunities for education should also be given to women.
Ms Karim added that in the past there was ignorance and that men had undermined the role of women in the society that has blamed for poor political reforms.
She said that the aim of fighting in the Nuba Mountains is the call for women to liberate themselves and get rid of issues that undermine the minority.
The chairperson said encouraged old women to join adult schools adding that education has no end.
She said that ministry of educationÊ promised to open adult education for women.
There are repeated allegations of women abuses in the Nuba Mountains blamed for lack of education and woman promotion in the region.
