Health workers in Hatire Primary Health Care Centre are administering drip to patients under veranda due to lack of bedding facilities.
Sebit Edward Musa is in charge of the health centre, told Radio Emmanuel that the community contributed eight beds for admission of patients but there are no mattresses and bed sheets.Patients admitted at night are asked to come with blankets including other bedding requirements and a lamp for lighting the facility; either they provide touch or buy paraffin.
Mr Edward said the health officers are at times forced to get batteries from the shops on credit when patients do not have any money.
He added that the health centre lack about 15 workers to meet the required 21 staff to serve the population.
The Health centre, recently renovated by the community has well stocked pharmacy, neat environment but only five technical workers and a cleaner.
Hatire Health Care Centre is located in mountainous area about 40 kilometres south of the state capital-Torit serves three Primary health care Units of Gilo, Imilai and Isoro, with population of over 1800 people.
