The Catholic Archdiocese of Juba today held a prayer in memory of one year of independence and to remember those people killed during July 7, 1992 Juba massacre.
Speaking to the faithful at Saint Theresa’s Cathedral Kator, Assistant Bishop Santo Loku Pio called on all people to pray for the martyrs whose death brought the independence of South Sudan.He called on all the families who lost dear ones during the 1992 incident to feel proud because the blood and bones of their family members cemented the independence of the country.
Bishop Loku advised the people of the new nation to distant themselves from action that would destroy the country.
He called on the people of South Sudan to remember all the suffering they underwent during the civil conflict and forgive their brothers and sisters who supported Khartoum to kill the people of South Sudan.
