South Sudanese returning from Sudan are worried that their luggage may be retained in Kosti, White Nile, or sold by warehouse owners if they overstay.
Thousands of returnees were flown to Juba leaving their entire belongings at Kosti to be transported by barge to South Sudan.John Malesh, acting minister for Gender and Social Welfare in Central Equatoria, told Bakhita Radio this afternoon that the ministry met with a group of returnees who expressed their worries over their luggage in Kosti.
The returnees said their belongings were placed in two big stores in Kosti and they were unsure about the safety of the place.
The acting minister revealed that the case will be forwarded to the Council of Ministers through the State Anti-corruption Commission.
Mr Malesh said the state Government is also going to discuss the allocation of land to returnees who do not have a place to settle.
Many returnees expressed concern over land acquisition in order to settle in their own country permanently.
