Tonj South County officers underwent a five-day workshop on water management systems.
Magar Anyuon Thuc, a community development officer in Warrap State, told Don Bosco FM that the training was aiming at boosting the water management committee to run the water yard in Tonj.He said the first committee which was selected to follow the water facility was not effective due to the destruction of pipelines.
Mr Anyuon He said his team has renovated Tonj water facilities, including the generator, solar system and pipelines.
He said that people have to pay a fee to use the water from the public system either at home or at water points in town.
Mr Anyuon said the money collected from the water services will be used to maintain the water yard, and buy diesel and spare parts.
The project is funded by Pact South Sudan.
About 11 community representatives and two water management engineers attended the training that concluded on Friday.
