Tonj South County local chiefs have seven days to complete the number of volunteers to the national army expected by the recruitment committee.
Commissioner Mario Monydhiath Gor told Don Bosco FM that the recruitment process in Tonj South went down due to ignorance, terming it as poor and discouraging. He appealed to the youths to volunteer to the national army because it is their chance to get into the ranks.
Mr Monydhiath said educated youth will get special training.
He told people not to think that recruitment means going to Abyiei and Panthou-Higlig.
Only 120 to 130 recruits have registered so far and were taken to a training centre.
Tonj South County SPLM secretary Edward Joseph asked idle youth to join the army.
He said traders without licenses and shisha smokers will be recruited to the army by force.
He appealed to traders having no licenses to get legal documents to identify their role in the community.
