The newly appointed commissioner of Yei River County started on Monday his first tour to get familiar with the reality on the ground.
Juma David Agostino told Radio Easter that his visit has two objectives: to allow the payam authorities to know the new county administration and for him to know and address the needs in the ground.Mr Juma started his tour visiting Mugwo payam.
He was accompanied by all heads of department in the county administration.
The Catholic Radio Network (CRN) is a media project constituted by community-based radio stations broadcasting in Frequency Modulation from Juba, Yei, Torit, Yambio, Rumbek, Tonj, Wau, and Malakal. CRN has also a station in the Nuba Mountains. All the stations share the same vision and mission, and are bound by common editorial and administrative policies. All stations broadcast shared programs in English: news, civic education, and other educational programs. Due to the heterogeneous realities of South Sudan, each station is rooted in its locality and broadcasts locally produced culture-sensitive programs in the languages which are understood by the local people. For its outreach, CRN has a potential audience of about seven million people, considering the influx of returnees to South Sudan after the Sudan Population Census 2008.
