Returnees that arrived in Juba way station from Kosti, in the Sudan, were asked to move on to their final destinations to free the facility for new arrivals.
The head of South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission Duer Tut Duer told the press that Central Equatoria authorities proposed to settle returnees in Mangala but then withdrew the offer, Bakhita Radio reported. He said another way station was prepared along the Yei Road but it needs more land because the space is small.
Mr Tut said all the returnees that arrived from Kosti are still packed at the way station in Juba.
He urged them to settle and integrate in their own communities to free the way station to welcome other returnees.
He added that the returnees were brought to South Sudan to settle at their final destinations and not to live in the way station.
Mr Tut called on Central Equatoria State authorities to allocate more land to settle the returnees who belong to the state.
