Two ministers from the national government paid an official visit to Usratuna Catholic Basic School in Juba on Monday on the President of the Republic’s behalf.

Minister in the Office of the President Emmanuel Lowila said the visit served to inform the Usratuna School that President Salva Kiir Mayardit postponed the visit to school he promised last December, Bakhita Radio reported.

President Kiir had planned to visit Usratuna School in April.

Mr Lowila added that President Kiir wants to honour Usratuna School for the performance of its students in primary school leaving exams.

General education minister Joseph Ukel praised the cleanness and the order at Usratuna School.

He also said he was happy to see everyone speaking English, because South Sudan adopted it as the language for learning.

Mr Ukel added that he was very encouraged with the great number of girls attending Usratuna Basic School.

He promised to support the school with some materials.

Usratuna Basic School has over 1,500 students enrolled for the 2012 academic year.
