The citizens of Juba are lamenting high prices charges in the local markets.

Bakhita Radio visited Konyo onyo market and recorded some feelings from buyers.

Cellina Faya said she could not decide what to buy because the money she has cannot purchase any commodity in the market.

She said a bucket of beans and onions ranges from 85 to 100 Pounds, adding that prices are not the same because sellers charged differently.

Ms Faya said the government could intervene to fix prices in the market.

She added that her salary is too small to cater for her family needs, especially food and education for children.

Betty Lamunu said prices have jumped up rapidly each day in the last few days.

She called on the government to look at the prices of commodities because prices increase on hourly bases.

Joseph Wani a businessman in the market said lack of dollars is responsible for high prices of commodities because all food and non food items are imported from foreign countries in foreign currency.

He also cited high taxes in Nimule and Nesitu.
