South Sudan army says Khartoum has resumed its ground and aerial bombardments on the territory of South Sudan despite a call from the international community to cease its hostilities.

Addressing the press in Juba on Wednesday, SPLA Deputy Spokesman Kella Dual Kueth said SAF, the Sudan Armed Forces, used antonovs, migs and artilleries to attack the Upper Nile, Unity and Western Bahr-El-Ghazal states on Monday.

Mr. Kueth did not mention the number of casualties and bombs dropped from the latest attacks.

The border war started last month when South Sudan captured Higlig for just a couple of days, an oil rich area claimed also by Sudan.
