The SPLM Secretary General Pagan Amum Okech met Thursday morning the UK Foreign Secretary William Hague in London.
In a document obtained by Bakhita Radio through UK Embassy in Juba, Mr Hague said is Government commended South Sudan’s decision to withdraw its police forces from Abyei and willingness to return to the negotiation table.He revealed that UK Embassy in Sudan would work hard to pressure Khartoum to withdraw its forces from Abyei and accept the peace roadmap proposed by the African Union (AU).
Mr Hague called on the two countries to cease hostilities and proxy support to rebel groups operating along the borders against each country.
He concluded that Britain is interested to see Sudan and South Sudan living in complete peace and stability.
