Adimal Manyual is the Outreach Coordinator for EDC, the Education Development Centre in Tonj South and Tonj East Counties. He told teachers attending a South Sudan Radio Instruction (SSRI) training that they needed to manage by themselves instead of depending on others. He singled out lack of accommodation and transport as the main problems teachers face to attend SSRI courses since some come from far places like Palal in Tonj East.
Warrap State EDC Outreach Coordinator Santino Mayar Ngor said the course was organized to prepare officers from the ministry of Education to continue SSRI programs produced by EDC.
He urged the officers to put into practice what they learned from EDC.
Mr Mayar asked payam EDC supervisors to keep the leaning programs alive adding that failures come only if the payam supervisors are not active following the teachers.
He urged the supervisors not to sleep but make greater plans for their payams and counties to eradicate illiteracy out of their areas.
SSRI are long distance teaching programs transmitted by local radio stations.
Payam supervisors are to ensure that teachers are with the students when the programs are aired.
