The President of the Republic has urged the South Sudanese people to persevere and love one another and called on returnees stranded in Khartoum and Kosti and the people of Abyei not to lose hope.
Salva Kiir Mayardit delivered this morning his Easter message.He said Easter is a period of celebration after temptation, suffering and forgiveness and victory of resurrection.
President Kiir added that South Sudanese people went through suffering but succeeded to obtained independence.
He urged the people to maintain the spirit of perseverance, unity and love for one another.
President Kiir told South Sudanese in Khartoum and Kosti that the Government is engaging with the authorities of Sudan to push the April 8 deadline to give time for their return home.
He told the people of Abyei not to lose hope because their issue will be sorted out soon so that they can assume their rightful place in Republic of South Sudan.
President Kiir said the disarmament of civilians in Jonglei State was part of the effort for South Sudanese to live in harmony with one another.
He announced that the program will be extended to other states.
