A Church leader has encouraged South Sudanese people to face the challenges of building the new nation with optimism, maintaining that the celebration of the first Easter since the independence offers the assurance that challenges can be overcome.
The Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek, Fernando Colombo, delivered yesterday his Easter message through Good News Radio. He said the resurrection of Jesus shows that victory belongs to good initiatives.
Fr Colombo encouraged South Sudanese to persist fearlessly in doing good deeds whatever the obstacles along the way.
He insisted that the good accomplished will eventually be part of the final and eternal victory of Jesus Christ and that negative realities against development and progress of humanity will fail.
Fr Colombo also encouraged the faithful of his diocese to pay keen attention to the Word of God during the season of Easter.
He underlined that Easter is not only one day but it takes 50 days to celebrate until Pentecost.
Fr Colombo said Easter is the key to Christian life.
He explained that Christianity would lose meaning without the resurrection of Jesus because Jesus is alive in those who believe in him.
Fr Colombo wished all the people a joyful Easter celebration, assuring believers that the victory of Jesus over death is also their victory.
The Administrator of the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek urged Christians to celebrate Easter with optimism because Jesus’ victory is their victory too.
