The security situation in Yei River County is normal compared with the previous months and the security forces will be strengthened during the Easter celebrations.

Yei River County Commissioner Elia Wai Wai told Radio Easter that this month violence in the area was reduced.

He said he received only one report that a certain man was wounded on his feet by an unknown night gang.
Mr Wai Wai said the security forces in the county are not enough to face consistent criminality.
He added that he requested the Central Equatoria Commissioner of Police to dispatch additional forces to the county.
Last year a team of 70 officers from the Rescue Police sent from Juba helped greatly to battle security threats in the county.
Mr Wai Wai, who is the overseer of security in the county, appealed to all citizens to avoid hiding wrongdoers, including robbers and night attackers, and cooperate with the police in identifying and reporting criminals.
