The administration of Kator Payam this morning began the distribution of business plots to traders in Konyo-Konyo market in collaboration with Juba City Council.

Konyo-Konyo traders lost their places to demolition last month in a bid to restructure the market and stop temporary buildings.

Juba City Council executive administrator Johnson Swaka Nishak told journalists that the authorities were giving land to the business people who lost their structures to demolition at Konyo-Konyo market last month, Bakhita Radio reported.

He added that the handing over will continue until all right owners of business plots at Konyo-Konyo market received their land.

Mr Swaka explained that the process started with the demolitions and cleanup, survey and plot numbering.

The distribution of plots and the building of permanent shops conclude the process.

Mr Swaka revealed that the authorities signed an agreement with the traders to develop their plots within nine months from the date of allotment.

He advised traders not to rent their shops to foreigners but work there to handle the economy of the country.

Mr Swaka concluded that foreign traders would carry out money from South Sudan if they were allowed to monopolize businesses.
