The South Sudan Theatre Company responsible to present Shakespeare’s play Cymbeline in Juba Arabic next month in London said today it is ready to go despite of financial challenges to buy costumes.

Co-Director Derek Alfred told CRN this afternoon that the theatre company is going to participate and represent South Sudan in the Globe to Globe Festival with Shakespeare’s play Cymbeline translated into Juba Arabic along with 36 other countries.

He explained that preparations started in December and were going on very well: only scene five needed some extra work.

Joseph Abuk, the other Co-Director who also translated the play into Juba Arabic, said the rehearsal has reached the stage in which actors should dress up according to their roles in South Sudan.

He added that so far there are no dresses because there is no money to buy them.

South Sudan and another 36 countries are going to present 37 Shakespeare plays in their own national languages at the Globe to Globe Festival organized by The Globe Theatre in London.
