Rebel forces combating the Sudanese army in South Kordofan have denied that they received support from South Sudan.

Sudan Liberation Front, an alliance between SPLA-North and some Darfuri movements, denied that the SPLA was supporting them while trying to take Talodi from the Sudanese Army.

Abdurahaman Anuwa, from the SPLM-North, denied allegations by Sudan saying South Sudan was supporting the rebel forces.

He said the accusation was not true.

Mr Anuwa added that the attack was conducted by Sudan Revolutionary Front, composed of SPLA-North and Darfur forces.

Mr Anuwa said Khartoum is accusing South Sudan of supporting the rebels with weapons in South Kordofan, Blue Nile and Darfur.

He added that the accusations are false.

Mr Anuwa said that up to now the Sudanese government could not admit and acknowledge that Sudan Revolutionary Front was a strong party.

He said the assault to Talodi started on Thursday and the fighting was still going on.
