A primary school head teacher said the state ministry of education did not give him or his office a formal communication regarding the transfer of a special education programme and school upgrading.

Kaman Chawul told Good News Radio that he learnt through rumours that the Lakes State education minister, the director general and the County education director decided to upgrade Riak Door primary to secondary school.

He added that they also decided to transfer the Accelerated Learning Program from Riak Door to Rumbek Girls Primary School without informing him.

Mr Chawul said the changes will affect greatly the running of the Girls’ School with grown up boys from the adult education programme chasing after the primary school girls.

He added that with the new arrangement the future of the girls’ school remains bleak as parents might consider transferring their daughters to other schools.

Mr Chawul revealed that he and the school’s Parents and Teachers Association launched a complaint about the changes to the relevant authorities but they are yet to receive a response.
