Lakes State Ministry of Physical Infrastructure has been urged to conduct the ongoing Rumbek survey in a realistic manner keeping in mind the returnees and the disadvantaged.

The Member of Parliament heading the Specialized Committee on Physical Infrastructure in Lakes State Assembly, David Kockedhie Puondak, told Good News Radio that the Ministry should be technical in its survey and not political.

He advised the Ministry to consider the plight of returnees still waiting for a plot of land to be resettled before rain begins.

Mr Puondak refuted the allegations by some people residing around the Parliament that the MPs want people out of the place.

He explained that the House is not involved in the ongoing program of demolitions.

Mr Puondak added that the Parliament respects the survey rules and procedures.

There have been speculations of political influence and favouritism from some sections that the surveyors are not realistic in their road plans with roads taking strange diversions.
