More than 58 million people have watched Kony 2012 in the internet, a video decrying the atrocities committed by the Ugandan rebels across four countries to bring its leader to justice.
The video was prepared by Invisible Children to spearhead a worldwide awareness campaign about Joseph Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army and its atrocities in Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, and South Sudan. The 30-minute film posted on YouTube created a huge buzz in YouTube, Face Book and Twitter.
Some critics say the timing of the campaign was wrong since the US administration sent already 100 troops to catch Kony and the video oversimplified the LRA issue.
There is also a heated debate about what Invisible Children is doing with the money it raised through Kony 2012.
