Western Bahr El Ghazal State Ministry of Education said that the marking of exam papers for standard eight was completed since last week, and they are now working on the final results.

Director of Examinations Adam Galal Eldeen Karam Alla told Voice of Hope Radio that 89 teachers took one week to mark all exam papers.

He added that five teachers are adding the final marks and they should be out in one week.

Mr Galal revealed that the students performed better this year in the exams and they are expecting high quality of success.

He said if the passing rate is high the state won’t have enough secondary schools to welcome the students.

Mr Galal pointed out that the participation of new teachers during the exam marking process required some adaptations.

The director assured that by the end of next week, they will hand over the final results to the State Ministry of Education for announcement.

The P8 examinations took place last January with 3,247 students sitting for the final test. One third were girls.
