The national dams and electricity minister was in Wau yesterday in a fact finding mission to check on the problems of power supply in town and promised enough electricity to all.
David Deng Athorbei met with the director of Wau Power Station, Earnes Bol, who briefed him about their problems.Mr Bol said Wau Power Station faced many challenges, including lack of oil, trained personnel and sufficient staff.
Minister Deng explained that the reports he got would help the central government to assist the state governor to provide permanent electricity to Wau residents.
The minister pointed out that Wau is a large and important city that needs a nonstop electricity supply.
Mr Deng added that power availability promotes economic development.
Wau power station has been out of use for almost one year.
