Children and pregnant mothers from Nuba Mountains living in Yida Refugee Camp are not receiving enough food they need in order to survive.
The alert comes from Mukesh Kapila, special representative for the UK-based NGO Aegis after he visited the camp in Unity State near the border with South Kordofan.
Dr Kapila said the humanitarian agencies are underfeeding the refugees in order to convince them to move further away from the border to a safer place and to separate civilians from military at the camp.
He added that it was wrong to condition aid distribution to other objectives and IDPs should be fed according to their needs.
Dr. Kapila commented that many donors are reluctant to supply humanitarian aid because most agencies left Yida after the air strikes.
He urged donors to trust in the ability of local groups and structures to manage humanitarian aid.
Dr Kapila asked for seeds and tools in order for IDPs and refugees to cultivate their own food.
