The administration of Loreto Girls Secondary School in Rumbek announced the names of 30 lucky girls that will begin their secondary school this year. A further 60 were left out due to lack of space.
Loreto School Principal Orla Treacy told Good News Radio that the 30 girls admitted come from 26 different primary schools, including six from outside Lakes State.Sr Orla admitted that the decision to leave out 60 girls was taken with pain, but the facilities at the school are limited to 30 new students.
Sr Orla appealed to the 60 girls not selected not to be discouraged.
She invited those who scored satisfactory grades to seek admission in other secondary schools.
Sr Orla advised those who did not pass the Primary Leaving Certificate Exam to repeat Primary Eight this year.
The selected girls are expected to report to the Rumbek-based School in three weeks’ time.
