MINISTRY SIGNS CONTRACT FOR NEW CAPITAL MAPPING

The national ministry of Housing and Physical Planning yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a South Korean company to plan the new capital in Ramciel.

Minister Jemma Nunu Kumba told CRN yesterday that the Korea Land and Housing Corporation presented the best bid for surveying and mapping the territory for the new capital.

She said the project is very important and the government tended it in order to find the best international bidder in areal and ground surveying and mapping in order to identify the best area to host the new national capital.

The company will also prepare feasibility studies to find the best area in Ramciel for the capital city.

Korea Land and Housing Corporation manager for Urban Planning Chan Ho’Kim said the company will survey and map the area and provide two alternatives to the new capital city after feasible studies.

He added that his company will prepare a city structure framework too.

The deputy minister for Housing and Physical Planning Mary Nyawulang signed the contract, witnessed by the undersecretary for finance and director general for constructions.
