Torit Police has detained a butcher in Torit after he killed a 26-year old man at Malekia Market.

David Achaik Parng confessed the killing, Radio Emmanuel reported.

He claimed he acted in self-defence after he was attacked by the deceased and three other colleagues.

The butcher told the press at the Police station that four boys attacked him with long knives at his meat shop.

He added that he stabbed one attacker in self-defence with a butcher’s knife.

Eyewitness Moses Francis, who works with the butcher, confirmed that his boss killed one of the attackers who were three and not four as Mr Achaik stated.

He said two of the attackers remained under a mango tree while the deceased man picked a quarrel with the butcher who stabbed him to death.
