The Governor of Lakes State on Monday issued two decrees relieving six directors general and three Anti-Corruption Commission officials of their offices.

Chol Tong Mayay’s decrees dated February 27 refer to article 165 of the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of South Sudan and articles 99 of the Transitional Constitution of Lakes State.

The affected Directors General include Enock Manyuon Malok of the Ministry of Local Government and Law Enforcement Agencies, Isaac Manyuon Madem of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and Philip Deng Ahoc of the Ministry of Social Development.

And Martin Makur Malual Gurke of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Madhel Meshack Manyuon of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Ustaz Kongor Deng Kongor of the Ministry of Education.

The Chairman of Lakes State Anti-Corruption Commission, Dominic Madol Alawei, his Deputy, Silas Kot Thong and member Peter Machar Agook were also dismissed.

The Governor’s decrees do not give motives for the dismissals.

This was the first decision Governor Tong took after being sworn in last Saturday.

The Governor is expected to announce his new Cabinet soon.
