Smoking is one of the greatest threats to public health in South Sudan.
Don Bosco FM organized a phone-in programme about health risks and the majority of callers stated that shisha and tobacco together with alcoholic drinks were spoiling the lives of both young and old.Caller Martin Makuek Chiman said shisha and tobacco cause loss of self-control, lack of responsibility and mental distortion.
Other callers related smoking with heart failure, lung cancer and tiredness.
Mr Kuanygoi said tobacco and shisha were dangerous to public health and they also caused problems in the families, waste of money and made working people lose their jobs.
Mouth bad smell and dark teeth were also blamed on smoking.
Some callers said tobacco and shisha were harmless, bringing refreshment and releasing tension.
