The Christian season of Lent is a call to holiness through prayer, fasting and solidarity with those who are desperate and in need.
This was the heart of Samuel Abe’s reflection to the Church personnel of the archdiocese of Juba who got together today for their monthly morning of recollection.Fr Abe told CRN that God’s blessings come through prayer, fasting and almsgiving.
He asked the Church personnel to promote their relationship with God through better human relationships.
He said sharing with the needy is the way to happiness, peace and harmony.
Fr Abe urged the Church personnel to give more time to prayer during the 40 days of Lent.
He asked them to pray especially for the Government of South Sudan and for the organized forces to maintain peace and put an end to insecurity in Juba and in the country.
Fr Abe explained that Christians are called to share the light of Christ with other people in order to make them see things clearer and stop insecurity.
He asked Church personnel to welcome people back to God, especially sisters, brothers and priests who left active ministry.
